COTS is the brainchild of Vaudeville Performer Fred Anderson - after a trip the the Edinburgh Festival Fringe - "the largest arts event in the galaxy..." he was an inspired to create that energy here in San Francisco.

When not embroiled in the details of producing Comedy On The Square Fred's "real" job is a variety entertainer performing for Corporate Events, Cruise Liners and Festivals worldwide. The show is a combo of stand-up comedy, juggling, magic & escape-artistry.
Fred learned juggling way back in 1975 while studying theater & computer science at SF State. His first performances were at San Francisco's Fishermans Wharf and Marin's Renaissance Pleasure Faire in 1976 and he was instantly hooked. His performances have taken him around the world several times over including 2 World Expos, The Edinburgh Festival Fringe (5 times), Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts & The Montreal Just For Laughs Festival. He really has been "Around the world for a laugh".
